Hi Caps!
I would like to ask about having children...I mean..is it possible when you are a Moon Cap?
Does anyone here have children? Because my Moon (4th house) makes me uncapable of loving kids, no matter how hard I try
Thank you!
I´m a newbie, sorry if this was discussed before!

Re: Babies?
Thu, August 30, 2007 - 11:47 PMWhere is Saturn in your chart? What sign and house is it in?
Moon in 4th house is often a great indication to me of being mothering and nurturing. Though the 5th house specifically has to do with children, being a mother (or sometimes father) is linked to Cancer and implies children.
Moon in Capricorn in the 4th house, opposite a Cancer midheaven could point more to the healing arts and nurturing (Cancer) the old (Capricorn) or focusing on structures (Capricorn) that nurture others. Do you work from home or work with people in their homes or live with the people you work with? It's also just possible that with Capricorn in your 4th house, you are more interested in nurturing other adults. Perhaps instead you form mentoring relationships with markedly younger and/or older persons - either nurturing the growth of someone younger or being nurtured and helped along by someone older?
Any aspects to your moon as well as what sign and house your Saturn is in may give you extra clues as to your aversion to children.
I personally do not link my Capricorn moon very strongly to leaning towards not wanting children of my own, but perhaps I could....
I have strong Gemini and Sagittarius in my chart, which makes me lean towards freedom and exploration over responsibility for and nurturing, even though my work is in the healing profession. I have 3 planets in the 5th house - my sun (ruled by Mercury), my chart ruler Mercury, and Pluto - all of which might otherwise indicate I'm all about children. I also have Venus in Leo in the 4th house. If they can talk and articulate their own thoughts (my Gemini/mercury bias) then I'm far more interested in them than smaller children.
However, I am very jealous of my time and energy. I want it for ME. I want to do what I want to do and I don't like the idea of being burdened physically with pregnancy, nursing, and the daily care of a child. Plus, with any other relationship other than the family we are each born into and possibly co-workers, the link is formed consciously and willingly. With children, it's a total gamble whether or not their personality will complement or clash with your own. It's possible this has more to do with my Jupiter in Aries in the 11th house, but it is possible that my 8th house moon, trine my Virgo Sun, would feel too out of control and senses that children might upset any life plans (planning being a Virgo and Cappy trait) I have for myself. I have thought about both fostering and/or adopting children before.
My Saturn is in Cancer. Funny that.

Re: Babies?
Fri, August 31, 2007 - 4:30 AMYes, it is indeed possible.
Moon is connected with family and children. Saturn means restrictions and limitations. Person with such influence usually considers certain area of their life as a very serious matter and a source of great responsibility.
With Saturn it goes one of two ways. Either cutting off (because Saturn also means fear, therefore it may be total lack of children) or overcompensating - having a lot of "perfect" children, which is often connected with being a strict, demanding parent - archetype of Saturn.
However, this is a very general interpretation.
Just as Wendy wrote - there are many factors to consider here. For sure 5th house is VERY important here.

Re: Babies?
Sat, September 1, 2007 - 12:51 AMi have moon in cap in 5th house. im partial to children. i dont' communicate well with children since i find baby-talk demeaning, and generally find children to be demanding. i will never have my own biological child, but i dont mind adopting in the near future -- asumming everying in my life is in place and have the time to let another person in my life. but definitely older children not you. i knid of expect children to be like cats - a little detached and self-contain, which is why i am never fond of babies. then again, with or without children, i have no qualms. i suppsoe i don't ahve that much exuberance and frivolity to entertain children. -

Re: Babies?
Sat, September 1, 2007 - 1:23 PM>> i find baby-talk demeaning
I can relate to that! Plus, I have 5th house Saturn and with kids I'm nice, without melting in their presence. Children cling to me.
>> i knid of expect children to be like cats - a little detached and self-contain, which is why i am never fond of babies
I think that being a Capricornian parent is tricky. This way you can teach (by being an example) your kid to be self-sufficient since a very young age, which may be a good thing, but on the negative side, the kid may grow up having numerous emotional inhibitions, because child has to go through period when she/he's helpless and constantly nurtured (that's why traditionally Cancer is the best position for Moon). -

Re: Babies?
Sun, September 2, 2007 - 1:24 AMI don't think there is a problem with Capricorn being nurturing - it is an EARTH sign after all. Being a winter sign, the concern with resources is natural, thus the Capricorn associations with career and business - of creating systems that will hopefully more than sustain through hard times. Capricorn nurtures physically, so I'd expect a Capricorn Moon who is balanced and in touch with their emotional motivations for concern with security would be plenty nurturing to a child - physically. -

Re: Babies?
Sun, September 2, 2007 - 4:56 AMI understand your point, Wendy.
However, Moon always means being nurtured or nurturing, regardless of sign.
Fire signs may be nurturing by providing excitement, air signs by providing mental stimulation.
For me, earth seems to be more natural placement for Moon than fire, but I'm still trying to wrap my mind over the fact that Moon in both Capricorn and Scorpio (water sign!) are traditionally the worst placements, and on the other hand we have that complex symbolism of earth and water being very "motherly".
There's probably a very simple explanation, but I'm suspicious ;) -

Re: Babies?
Sun, September 2, 2007 - 3:22 PMPerhaps because they are both "frozen" signs. If each of the water signs is a state of water - liquid, solid, or vapor - then Cancer is liquid and flowing emotion (cardinal), Pisces is a mysterious and ethereal fog of emotion encompassing more than the eye can consciously see (mutable), and Scorpio is ice-crusted watery emotion with deep dark depths (fixed). Capricorn, likewise has a frozen quality to it in that it's associated with the dead of winter.
Did I mention that my Cap moon is in the 8th house? :) -

Re: Babies?
Mon, September 3, 2007 - 6:48 AMI think you're right. In my opinion the common misconception is assuming emotional coldness or hardness in these cases, whereas it's more about lack or.. quite peculiar expression.
I saw your chart!.My Moon is in Capricorn AND in the 8th house as well, with square from Saturn/Pluto conjunction. Is it the right moment to start swearing solemnly that I'm not a bad person? ;) -

Re: Babies?
Wed, September 5, 2007 - 11:40 PMi'm afraid im a little cold when it comes to pet too...initially i'm all over it, but i left it alone sometime (of course i feed it), but i prefer it when it comes to me rather than the reverse. i like to observe how it behaves than to actively play with it. but i like cuddling it. it's fantastic. -

Re: Babies?
Thu, September 6, 2007 - 12:19 AMYou should try a kitty cat. They are pretty independent and still like cuddles sometimes.

Re: Babies?
Sat, September 15, 2007 - 8:46 AMI love kids as long as they're not mine. But I've always been told that I'd be great mom. It's just not for me.

Re: Babies?
Sat, December 29, 2007 - 3:36 PMOh you should have children if you like! Regardless of what your astrology chart seems to tell you. I would actually look toward your 5th house to tell you whether you're likely to have children, and what they might be like, as this house rules children, creation and romance. -

Re: Babies?

Re: Babies?
Thu, January 10, 2008 - 4:36 PMI wouldn't say it isn't possible to love them. You would just love them in your own way and from that will grow a certian individual.

Re: Babies?
Fri, January 11, 2008 - 1:42 AMI have a moon in capricorn and so does my partner and he has his moon in the 4th house mine is in the 12th. But he loves kids like crazy and is planning to fill me up with babies soon. Perhaps it's his pisces sun. Perhaps for you it is not the time yet. The moon in the 4th house usually means that to some extend you do gravitate towards having a stable domestic environment unless afflicted elsewhere. So just watch and see. -

Re: Babies?
Thu, February 7, 2008 - 5:19 PMhave my moon in 4th house in capricorn and am quite fond of kids though I do not have any of my own. when I think about having my own I see it as a long and tedious task to raise them up I guess thats the pessimist goat in me :-),

Re: Babies?
Thu, February 7, 2008 - 6:54 PMI don't know whether it's because my moon is in Cap or if it's just who I am, but I have absolutely NO interest in having children and I never have. I've never gushed over babies or had the slightest need to wanna have a child.
I like children a lot and they like me, but I don't want any, and don't think I'll ever want any. I have no regret in saying that either.
I also think there are way too many children in the world and that the world is overly populated enough as it is, they're very expensive to have, and I much prefer animals to babies any day. Animals are MY children (particularly cats.) I'll coo over a kitten or dog way before I will ever coo over a child. -

Re: Babies?
Fri, February 8, 2008 - 1:41 PMShure we can have babies :) My uncle has two kids. Greate ones too, and they have a good relationship.
My question is wether we really need more kids. I klike kids, i've worked in a kindergarden, so i like them. But just like cats and dogs, I dont know if I really want one myself. I mean, in many cases it's mostly a social pressiure thing o have kids. but hey, im still young so my views might change though =)
